Research Stay at Belgrade
Tamara Bjažić Klarin, Lidija Butković Mićin, Martina Malešič and Mejrema Zatrić Šahović, members of the research team of the ERC project Housing.Yu – The Right to Housing: The Production of Everyday Living Space in Yugoslavia (1945–1991), conducted fieldwork and archival research in Belgrade from 15 to 21 February 2026.
Under the expert guidance of architectural historian and architect Jelica Jovanović, they visited socialist-era housing developments, including Julino Brdo, Cerak Vinogradi 1 and 2, Vidikovac, Železnik, Zvezdara, Konjarnik and Rudo (Istočna kapija), as well as Blocks 1, 23, 29, 61 and 70 in New Belgrade.
The team members held meetings and conducted research at the Archives of Yugoslavia, the National Library of Serbia, the Svetozar Marković University Library, and the libraries of the Faculty of Architecture and the Institute of Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia (IAUS) at the University of Belgrade. They also visited the Association of Architects of Serbia.
During their stay, they established cooperation with Dr Snežana Tošev, Museum Adviser for Architecture and Construction at the Museum of Science and Technology; Associate Professor Ana Ereš and Dr Vladan Putnik Prica, Senior Research Associate at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade; as well as Dr Davor Ereš, Research Assistant at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade.
