The Institute of Art History and the Croatian Architects’ Association invite you to a public discussion entitled Housing Architecture in Croatia in the 1970s and 1980s, which will take place on Monday, 19 October 2026, at 6 pm at the DAZ/UHA premises (Trg bana J. Jelačića 3/1). The participants will be Višnja Cimić, Mladen Jošić, Đorđe Romić, Andrija Rusan, and Benedetto Tardozzi. The event is organised as part of the Housing.Yu – The Right to Housing: The Production of Spaces for Everyday Life in Yugoslavia (1945–1991) project, supported by the European Research Council (ERC Consolidator Grant No. 101171985). The discussion will serve as the opening event for the conference Right to Housing: Projects, Policies, and Knowledge Exchange after the Second World War, which will take place at the Institute of Art History in Zagreb from 22 to 24 October 2026.
The event revisits Conversation with the Protagonists of Modern Architecture, held 50 years ago, on 13 April 1976, at the same venue. The participants in that discussion were Vlado Antolić, Franjo Bahovec, Ivo Bartolić, Marijan Haberle, Lavoslav Horvat, Zdenko Kolacio, Slavko Löwy, Stjepan Planić, and Antun Ulrich, together with Tomislav Premerl, Davor Salopek, Darko Venturini, and Radovan Tajder. The discussion was published in the journal Arhitektura (1976, issues 156–157).
