“Radna skupina Varaždin” visits the Institute

As part of their study visit to Zagreb, the Institute was visited on Friday, May 8, 2026, by Filip Kobzinek, a representative of the Radna skupina Varaždin, Austrian architect and researcher Ralf Bock, and Jurjen Zeinstra from TU Delft.

The occasion for the meeting was the legacy of architect Aleksander Laslo, which has been stored at the Institute since 2018. Particular interest was sparked by his long-standing research into the architectural oeuvre and work of Zlatko Neumann, a close associate of Adolf Loos and one of the early advocates of his Raumplan concept, as well as by other related topics from the interwar period.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Tamara Bjažić Klarin, Ivana Haničar Buljan, Frano Petar Zovko, and Irena Šimić, members of the ERC project HOUSING.YU – “The Right to Housing: The Production of Everyday Living Space in Yugoslavia (1945–1991)” and the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ) project ARHZAG – “Architecture and Housing Culture in Zagreb, 1880–1940.”

Presentation of the Book “Aleksander Laslo: Zagreb – Architecture, Architects”

On 16 September 2026, the book Aleksander Laslo: Zagreb – Architecture, Architects, edited by Dr Tamara Bjažić Klarin and published by the Institute of Art History in 2025, was presented at the Zagreb Society of Architects.
